What We're Doing
The American Nurses Association has been a driving force in gathering data to make the case for safe nurse staffing plans. ANA is active in tracking and identifying nursing-sensitive indicators and their effects on the quality of nursing care.
ANA is also fighting to make safe nurse staffing legislation a reality. ANA advocates for legislation that would hold hospitals accountable for the development and implementation of unit-by-unit staffing systems that ensure appropriate nurse staffing levels for quality patient care.
